The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre’s main hangar, home to their prized Lancaster Bomber, was plagued by outdated, inefficient high-pressure sodium highbay lamps. These lamps resulted in poor visibility, inaccurate colour rendering, and inadequate light levels. Similar issues with low lux levels in the engineering bay hampered the team’s ability to work meticulously with intricate components.

The Solution

Following a comprehensive lighting consultation, our lighting specialist meticulously assessed the museum’s challenges. We then proposed a custom lighting design that addressed these issues while simultaneously reducing energy costs and minimising the museum’s environmental impact. CEMA’s skilled in-house installation team completed the project in a swift two days. The team replaced the antiquated lamps throughout both the hangar and engineering bay with our exclusive, high-efficiency 200 lumens per watt LED Highbay luminaires. This innovative solution delivers a multitude of benefits including enhanced clarity and visibility. The uniform clear bright lighting provides a comfortable and productive environment whilst eliminating dark spots for safer spaces for the museum staff and visitors alike.
