The Challenge

Ennerdale Leisure Centre in Hull grappled with rising energy costs and an outdated, inefficient fluorescent lighting system across the entire facility, including the swimming pool, sports hall, and the region’s only dedicated 1km outdoor cycling track.

The Solution

Following a comprehensive on-site consultation and lighting audit by our lighting specialists, Ennerdale Leisure Centre received a solution to enhance light levels throughout the facilities while significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Our dedicated installation team transformed the lighting on the cycle track with CEMA’s High-Efficiency 70W Street Headlights. This solution significantly improved light uniformity across the outdoor area, enhancing safety and making the track usable year-round.

Other areas across the centre also benefited. The swimming pool received new high-efficiency, high-panel floodlighting and decorative bulkhead lighting. Upgraded lux levels in the sports hall were achieved by installing CEMA High-Efficiency Highbay luminaires, keeping all the action in focus.

The Result

Ennerdale Leisure Centre has significantly improved since installing the new CEMA LED lighting solution. The 1980s-built centre has been revitalised, with improved safety thanks to enhanced light levels throughout. But the benefits extend further. The centre now enjoys a substantial reduction in energy usage and carbon footprint making it a more sustainable leisure facility for the future.
